Redrock Stockport opened in late 2017. The £45m development was part of Stockport Council’s Investing in Growth work that is transforming Stockport town centre. Burrows Little were employed to design the new 43,500 sq ft cinema for The Light Cinema. In addition to our project there was over 37,500 sq ft of retail and restaurants. The whole redevelopment cost £45m.
Originally designed as a 10-screen multiplex with 868 luxury seats, Burrows Little have now been requested to investigate enlarging the capacity due to the cinema’s fantastic success.
The shell costs of the cinema were approximately £6.5m and the cinema fitout including equipment was £4.1m.
